My friend Kate and I had dinner at Sweet Basil recently since my hubby is away in CA at a conference. My daughter came with us but she slept in her car seat all night! We started with some authentic village bread and a pesto/butter spread. The vibe inside is cozy and rasta-like, pretty funky […]
Scott and I were doing some returns and shopping at the Natick Collection on Sat, and we decided to go have lunch at Sel de la Terre. Denise and I had been there before and really liked it. Sofia was with us so there was a brief moment of panic when her sticky nosy hands […]
The Back Eddy
So were all set to go to a place called Marguerite’s but they gave our table away (even though we had reservations, what the?) so I made the call to my fav place in Westport - The Back Eddy - and they sat us in like 30 min!
We have been here many times […]
Loco Tapas just opened up 6 months ago and we LOVED it. The owner owns “crazy chefs caterers” and visited Barcelona and the Basque wine country in summer of 2006 and decided to open up this restaurant! He is pretty bold and we admired his adventurous spirit! He is a CIA trained chef and the […]
This place was a very very nice surprise! We were hungry, it was 6:15pm on a Sat, and all the OPs were out and about. The valet parking guy said the wait was 30-45 min at the StoneForge in Foxboro, but when we got inside we were told 1 hr, 20 min. We grudgingly decided […]
Scott and I stayed here for the Falmouth Road Race weekend (I ran it in 1 hr, 6 min, 47 sec, yay!) and we had the best time here. Deb gave us bikes courtesy of the B&B, and we biked all around Woods Hole and Falmouth, stopping for occasional swims in the Atlantic and some […]
Check out the 3-course prix fixe menu that we enjoyed on Sun, Aug 20, 2006 with my in-laws and close friends of ours. The majority did the wine-pairing, which made this an incredible bargain. My fav was the wild mussel chowder, yummy - light not too heavy on the cream. plentiful and tender mussels, plus […]
Phusion Grille is a great contemporary/eclectic mix restaurant at Woods Hole, MA - right on the water. We enjoyed a lobster bisque and the tuna sushi over fried wontons for apps. For entrees, Scott got the lamb loin special, and I enjoyed a 1.5 pound lobster in a spicy asian coconut sauce, YUM!
Ah, Bricco is another great meal in the North End. We can’t wait to see what will happen once all the gardens are planted! I ate at Bricco 5 years ago and was not that impressed. There is a new (3rd?) chef now and she is Marisa Iocco (sp?). Wow, I got the zucchini blossoms […]
So, we had reservations for Monica’s, the same day Italy won the World Cup - wow! What a place to be! The streets were filled with people and we danced right along with them, singing “Forza Italia!”
Back to the food - we jolted off Hanover st to eat at Monicas - a recommendation from a […]
